29 Theme 5 – Workflow in the digital environment

Summary

Digital technology can be a highly disruptive force in the publishing work-place as its adoption requires a change in the work-flow practices of established houses. Using ‘traditional’ means to publish digital content is possible but does not take full advantage of the technology, and in many ways can create delays and inferior products. This chapter addresses the ways in which workflow is affected.
